This past August, Martha’s Vineyard hosted a panel on diversity, equity and inclusion. Derek Lewis, an executive at Pepsico, is here to recap it.

Change and movement were the two main points discussed by Black entrepreneurs gathered at this year’s DE&I panel in Martha’s Vineyard. They took time to reflect on the changes the pandemic brought to the business world and discuss moving forward into the new reality.

Derek Lewis, an executive at Pepsico is convinced that changes in company culture is inevitable with big businesses. But he also sees the importance of supporting smaller ventures.

“We need to bring support for small businesses, so that they can grow and scale,” Lewis told DETOUR. “It could change lives.”
