Ludacris is catching flights to reunite with old friends and collaborators. On March 20, the rapper, actor and entrepreneur made his way to Ghana to reconnect with Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie.

“Eleven years later. Thank God, we still here. Ludacris, ‘one of the world’s greatest,’” Sarkodie captioned an Instagram post with photos from the reunion, plus a throwback image.

Sarkodie was featured on the remix of Luda’s 2010 single, “How Low” in 2012. Revolt reports that the rapper first shared the song with fans in September 2012 when he headlined Vodafone’s 020 Live Concert in Ghana. When he finally performed the remixed single during his set, the crowd showed love to it immediately after hearing Sarkodie.

“Ghana, I love y’all, man,” the rapper said afterwards. “I love y’all from the bottom of my heart. This ain’t the last time I’ll be here. I’m coming back.”

“The Southern Hospitality” rapper has made it back to the country after his 2012 appearance, but 2023 marks the first time he’s seen Sarkodie since their collaboration. Fans also have reason to be excited because videos and pictures of the reunion allude to a potential future collaboration. A silent video posted to Twitter shows the two vibing to, what seems to be, music coming from nearby speakers. Sarkodie, specifically, is very animated in the video, so they just might be creating a new hit. Neither of the rappers have confirmed if they are working on a collaboration.

Despite their time apart, both artists have been keeping busy. In 2019, Sarkodie released his fifth album, “Black Love,” which included a feature from Idris Elba. The following year, he was named “Artiste of the Year” at the Ghana Music Awards USA. He went on to put out back-to-back releases in 2021 and 2022, with “No Pressure” and “Jamz,” respectively.

While Ludacris hasn’t put out an album since the release of “Ludaversal” in 2015, he’s been focusing on ventures outside of music. In 2021, his children’s television series, “Karma’s World” premiered on Netflix. The show is based on the educational website of the same name, which is inspired by his eldest daughter, Karma Bridges. The show is produced by his production company, Karma’s World Entertainment, features Ludacris as the protagonist’s fathers, and has earned three NAACP Image Award nominations. He’s continued to expand the “Karma’s World” brand by releasing the Karma’s World© Satin Sleep Collection with his daughter, Karma. Luda tapped back into music in 2021 with the release of the single “Butler.ATL.” The Atlanta native is also a headliner for Janet Jackson’s “Together Again” tour.
