Located on the scenic island of Ko Olina, the Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa is the perfect location for your family vacation or next girls trip.

Put away your Mickey Mouse ears because this Disney Resort is for the adults. Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa is the perfect destination for your next girl’s trip or child-free adventure. The resort is nestled on the island of Ko Olina, and is about 20 miles away from Honolulu Airport and 25 miles from the crowded streets of Waikiki. Meaning “place of joy,” Ko Olina was once a sacred area for Hawaiian monarchs and leaders to rest and unwind.

The property features 351 hotel rooms and 481 Disney Vacation Club villas, an 18,000-square-foot spa, a wedding and event lawn, and more than four swimming pools. Aulani allows you to take a break from adulting without leaving the resort.

It is a welcoming resort for the whole family, too, and has kid-friendly attractions including the Keiki Cove and Menehune Bridge splash zones, the Menehune Adventure Trail and family spa treatments.

Aulani has over ten places to grab food and drinks, including food options native to the island. Start your morning with a fresh croissant poolside at Makahiki (you may be able to snag a pic with Minnie and Mickey), grab lunch and drinks on the beach at Off the Hook, and end your night at the Ka Wa’a lū‘au. The buffet-style dining experience features traditional Hawaiian cuisine and a nightly lū‘au on the beach.

If the beautiful scenery isn’t enough to relax you, the Laniwai Spa will do it. The full-service spa, salon, and fitness center offers various services, including a Signature Lomilomi. This traditional Hawaiian massage is passed down from generation to generation by healing kūpuna (elders). Indulge in a gentle, rhythmic massage incorporating lomilomi sticks and warm river stones to release tension, pain, and fatigue while replenishing the mind, body and spirit. Follow your Lomilomi with Kilikili (fine, gentle rain). This luxury experience is a full-body exfoliation of your choosing, leaving you refreshed and reenergized.

The spa also includes the Kula Wai outdoor hydrotherapy garden. This 5,000-square-foot garden has private vitality baths, soaking pools, a reflexology path designed to massage the feet and lower legs, a cold water therapy plunge pool, rain-style showers with various shower styles and more.

If you are looking for a little more excitement, the resort does offer group and single excursions that will immerse you in the natural beauty of Hawaii. Excursions include zipline tours, walking tours through the rainforest, and even a ride through volcanic sites.

“Aulani Resort offers all the luxury of a world-class resort and spa in a breathtaking beachfront setting making it the perfect location for a retreat,” said Yolanda Cade, Vice President of Communications for Disney Signature Experiences.
