This year’s conference will take place from March 9-11.

Calling all women in business: this year’s Women of Power Summit is taking place from March 9-11 in Las Vegas at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino. The event, which is being hosted by Black Enterprise, is “a professional leadership conference designed especially for executive women of color. This event will bring together over 1,500 influential corporate professionals and businesswomen from across the country.”

The three-day event will feature a variety of workshops and sessions hosted by established figures in the corporate world, representing companies including AT&T, FedEx, Amazon and Capital One. The conference will also feature the Luminary Awards Luncheon on March 11 where actress, writer, producer and comedian Issa Rae will be honored, along with writer and speaker Luvvie Ajayi Jones; Pulitzer Prize winner and creator of the 1619 Project, Nikole Hannah-Jones; and author and stock trader, Lauren Simmons. The 17th Annual Legacy Awards Gala will also be held on March 9. Legacy honorees include actress Loretta Devine; President and CEO of Vera Moore Cosmetics, Vera Moore; and EVP and CFO of The Estee Lauder Companies, Tracey T. Travis.

Family Soul Restaurant

This soul food restaurant, owned by Dan Chatman, started as the popular food truck, Soul Food Cafe Express. The food truck’s support by loyal customers is why a physical location was able to come to fruition. Family Soul serves comforting dishes including soul-food-stuffed egg rolls, catfish nuggets and mac and cheese.
