The hour-long, immersive experience will feature live performances, puppet shows, and several play areas.
Disney’s live-action remake of “The Little Mermaid” is undoubtedly one of the most highly anticipated film releases of 2023. The excitement around the film, which stars singer Halle Bailey in the titular role, has audiences of all ages vying to be part of Ariel’s world. Thanks to the family experience company, Camp, this will be possible in June.
Attractions Magazine reports that Walt Disney Pictures and Camp have collaborated on an immersive, kid-friendly experience in Atlanta where families can go under the sea and live among the fish. Camp’s “The Little Mermaid” experience opens June 3 and features several distinct spaces to explore. Guests can watch a mesmerizingly witchy show in Ursula’s Lair, test their basketball skills by playing with giant pearls in King Triton’s Palace, and play with Ariel’s gadgets and gizmos in her Trinket Grotto.
“The Little Mermaid” attraction isn’t Camp’s first Disney-themed experience. The company debuted its “Encanto” attraction in Dallas, TX back in 2022, which recently made its way to New York City. “Following the stellar success of our most recent collaboration, Disney Encanto x Camp, which debuted in NYC, we can’t wait to make memories together with Atlanta families when we open our newest show next month,” said Ben Kaufman, Camp’s co-founder, according to Blooloop.
Camp’s website notes that there won’t be official Disney characters to play or snap a photo with, but there will be live music and performances by “merpeople.” There will also be exclusive merchandise available for purchase.
“Storytelling is at the heart of what we do – and our continued collaboration with Camp allows us to bring new audiences into Disney’s beloved stories through innovative and immersive retail experiences that families can enjoy together,” said Naveen Seshadri, Disney’s executive vice president of global retail. Tickets for “The Little Mermaid” experience are available for purchase on Camp’s website, starting at $35. Guests can purchase tickets the day of, but Camp recommends early reservation tickets.
