This March, South By Southwest (SXSW) will return to Austin, Texas, and is anticipated to surpass all previous festivals’ attendance records.

South by Southwest (SXSW) is a collection of festivals and conferences held each March in Austin, Texas, that put the spotlight on various forms of media and entertainment. Artists from the music, film, and media industries, as well as other creative professionals, will be speaking, debating, and performing at the event.

March 10-19, 2023 is set to be the next iteration of what has become one of the largest and most prestigious events, drawing participants from all corners of the globe. Topics like generative AI helped bring in 278,681 people last year, and they could bring in even more this year.

Cannabis, community service, food culture, video games, the metaverse, the media, psychedelics, and sports are just some of the topics that will be covered at the conference.

In addition to the premieres of “Swarm” and “Beef” on opening and closing night, the festival has introduced two waves of film and television programming, as noted on Newsbreak. The story of “Swarm,” a dark comedy written by Donald Glover and Janine Nabers, centers on a woman whose feelings for a made-up pop star take a sinister turn. At the same time, “Beef” tells the tale of two random people whose lives are irrevocably changed by an act of road rage.

A total of 108 films will be shown at SXSW, with 73 of them making their world premieres. Over 300 musicians from every corner of the globe are represented on the music lineup. Among the latest additions to the list are New Order, Killer Mike, and THUS LOVE. Adult Decisions, Alcopop! Records, and a number of others have just been announced as Showcase Presenters.

This year, the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival will welcome back the music and entertainment publication Billboard with three star-studded performances by Lil Yachty, Feid and Eladio Carrión, and Kx5 (Kaskade x deadmau5). The performances will take place from March 16 to 18 at Austin’s Moody Amphitheater in Waterloo Park.

Over 190 international artists, from rising stars in hip-hop to seasoned pros within various genres, have been announced for the music festival, and hundreds more are expected to join them.

Additionally, the publication will host the Billboard House, an interactive content hub with brand activations, photo ops, quick interviews, and discussions with musicians and business titans. The Waterloo Greenway Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that works with the city of Austin to create an urban park system, will receive a portion of the ticket sales as a donation.
