Greenville was listed as one of America’s “best cities” to live in. Support these local businesses when you venture through the “Emerald City.”
With its healthy balance of slow living, sandy shorelines, and metropolitan areas, South Carolina has something for everyone when it comes to living.
On March 27, Greenville earned a spot as one of Travel & Leisure’s “10 most affordable and beautiful places to live in the U.S.” The “Emerald City” came in at number three.
The outlet ranked the states based on a U.S. News & World Reportstudy and were “evaluated onthe impact that cost of living, median monthly rent, median home price in relation to the national median, and quality of life have on a city, which generates a well-rounded figure for anyone looking to relocate.”
As the only South Carolina city on the list, Greenville has a population of over 72,000 people with a median home price of about $320,000. The outlet mentioned Greeneville’s proximity to natural wonders such as the Blue Ridge Mountains. It was praised for its flourishing downtown area, culture, and locally-owned businesses.
One of Greenville’s additional high points is its growing community of Black businesses. Black people make up over 24% of the city’s population. The growth of Greenville is due to the inclusion and promotion of its minority-owned businesses.
